Dress guidelines
We have two options for attire:
- Tuxedos
- Long black skirt, long black dress or long black dress pants. Full legs, no tights or slim pants. Plain black scoop or V-neck top with 3/4 sleeves. Black opaque stockings, black shoes (no sandals). No jewelry except stud earrings.
Also, no perfume, after shave or garlic.
Sign - up sheets
Usher and ticket taker help - We need family members, friends, neighbors, or co-workers who might like to help out before and during performance. Please connect with Anne Mills millsannes@gmail.com or Marya Machart at maryamachart@gmx.com. There will also be a sign-up sheet at next rehearsal. We will need their e-mail address and phone number.
Need to purchase the music for Fall's Messiah - There is a sign-up sheet next to the attendance sheets. We will be purchasing music over the summer.
Fundraiser Gift Cards
Check your winnings from the fundraiser. If your raffle or auction item contained a gift certificate and you didn't exchange your paper copy of the gift certificate for the real thing, see Nancy Tougas.

50/25/25/ Raffle
Our monthly raffle will take place at next Monday's rehearsal - $5/ticket. Exact change please. Participation is voluntary.
Are you singing with us next Fall and need the music to Messiah
There will be a music sign-up sheet for those needing to purchase a copy of the G. Schirmer Edition of Messiah by the attendance sheets at the next rehearsal
Concert Tickets
Anne Mills and Penny Schaner-Jones will be available at rehearsal to take ticket money, provide additional tickets or to swap tickets types.

Annual Meeting
One last piece of business before Monday’s annual meeting.
One part of the formal process at the annual meeting is the acceptance of the minutes from the last annual meeting.
I have attached those minutes for review. I will ask you hold any questions or edits till the meeting.

The concert dates for Messiah at Our Lady of Hope Church will be Sat – 12/7, 7pm concert and Sun – 12/8, 3pm concert
We will be using the G. Schirmer Edition.

Annual Meeting
May 1, 2023A quorum of members was present
President Donn Kurjan welcomed members and called meeting to order at approx. 8:30 during the chorus break.
He noted that via the by-laws, the annual meeting is held during the first rehearsal of May.
Last year’s Annual Meeting minutes of May 2, 2022, were approved unanimously.
Nominating Committee: Motion to elect the following to the board for FY2024 was made, seconded and voted unanimously:

CNS Singers Update - April 18, 2025
Hi everyone -
Order of business
As required by our bylaws, I am notifying you that we will have the Choir's annual meeting the first rehearsal in May.
We will hold this short meeting before break at our May 6 rehearsal.
25 & 50 Year Recognition
For those singers who are reaching either their 25th and 50th year with the choir and have not been recognized with a lanyard & pin, please let Penny Schaner-Jones know at banjopenny2@gmail.com
Leap Into Spring
The April 22 rehearsal will be the final rehearsal to purchase Leap into Spring tickets or donate items.
Remember if you are coming to the Fundraiser, bring your piggy bank (only cash or checks accepted. ATM on site)

It is once again time for us to pull together the slate of candidates for the coming year's (9/1/24-8/31/25) Board of Trustees.
Please give serious consideration to becoming a member of the Board of Trustees.
Joining the Board is the perfect opportunity to give back to the Chorus in return for the joy we receive singing.
All volunteers are welcome, whether chorus members or a qualified acquaintance, experienced in board/ committee participation or just interested in being part of the process that has kept this organization a success for over ninety years.

Leap into Spring Tickets now available online
I will be sending out a Broadcast that Leap into Spring Tickets are now available to purchase on - line at www.chorusnorthshore.org. This Broadcast notice will not only go to current singers but also to past singers that are part of our broadcast distribution list. Tickets will continue to be available to purchase at rehearsals.
Grant Assistance
CNS has been made aware that applications are available to apply for a $6000 operational grant from the MA Cultural Council. This would be a great boon to our bottom line. Unfortunately, singers who have volunteered in the past to help with grant writing are not singing with us this session.
I'm putting the call out to see if there are any singers in the choir who have grant writing experience and could help the Board with this grant application. The application is due the beginning of June.

CNS is not just a chorus but a community of individuals who love to sing, bring fantastic choral music to the North Shore and support one another in this journey. Events such as this are not only good in supporting the Chorus's mission but helps to foster our CNS Community.
