Hi all – So excited to see you all at our first rehearsal.  It was energizing to say the least! Can’t wait for the next rehearsal.

A couple of updates

For those still needing ..

  • to pay dues and pick up music, please come at 6:15 pm for next Monday’s rehearsal so we can all get to the rehearsal on time
  • to get name tags – if you didn’t add your name to the list on Saturday or Monday or are not new to CNS ( I have already made name tags for new members) please e-mail me and me let me know you need one so I can make it before next Monday

We will be set up in the room next to the rehearsal room rather than the lobby for dues music and name tags

Attendance – Starting next Monday the Attendance sheets will be in front of the rehearsal room door

Gloucester Bank Donation -You should have received an e-mail from our CNS distribution list e-mail titled “Help Chorus North Shore – Vote Today for a Community Donation!” about a donation possibility from Gloucester Bank.  Please take a minute to follow the instructions to vote .  Ask family and friends as well.  Every bit helps to defray our operations costs.

Recap of Abby’s request for Singers

  • Please listen to these recordings

Pinkham: Christmas Cantata written for the Alumni Chorus of New England Conservatory in 1957, premiered at Clark Univ in Worcester!

Mvmt 1 – spiky and rhythmic (not as hard as it sounds)

Mvmt 2 – mysterious and gorgeous

Mvmt 3 – wordy, rhythmic, playful (this tempo is too fast, but otherwise the style is ideal)

Rutter: Gloria written for The Voices of Mel Olson in Nebraska in 1974.

Mvmt 1 – epic! the most adventurous and bold Rutter.

Mvmt 2 – gorgeous.

Mvmt 3 – you will hear a lot of the same music as mvmt 1 but with different text and a big fugue at the end (the best part). 🙂

Parts On line – For those that would like to listen to their parts on line.  Here are some resources –
