Hi everyone-

Hope you had a great holiday and I can’t wait to sing together again. With our first rehearsal just around the corner, a few reminders:

Rehearsals

  • Our first rehearsal will be on January 22, 7:00pm at Ipswich High School in the Chorus Room and every Monday thereafter except for Monday holidays.

Pre – Registration

  • Since we have a large number of singers, we are asking that you make every attempt to register at Ipswich High School in the Fine Arts Lobby from 9:30 am -11:30am on Saturday 1/20/24 (pay dues, pick up your music and review personal information).
  • If you can’t be there in person, feel free to have another singer register for you.
  • There will also be a short time prior to the first rehearsal at 6:30 – 7:00pm for those unable to make the Saturday time.

(We are not accepting any singers who have not already confirmed their participation with Membership. We are happy to add them to the wait list. They can contact membership@chorusnorthshore.org )

  • Dues – $60/season ($30 for new members)
  • Music – A Bernstein Celebration
  • The music for purchase at registration
  • West Side Story $5.50
  • The Best of All Possible Worlds $4.50
  • Make Our Garden Grow $2.50
  • Chichester Psalms $9.50 (new) $8 (used)
  • Sanctus $3.00

Have two checks payable to Chorus North Shore with “dues” and “music” on the memo lines. If paying in cash, it should be the exact amount.

Chichester Psalm Lyrics

Since the Chichester Psalms is in Hebrew, you may need a little help with pronunciation. If go on Google and type in phonetic lyrics for Chichester Psalms, websites and videos will come up with the pronunciation for all three movements.

Concert Attire

There are two options for concert attire:

  • 1. Tuxedos, black tie, socks and shoes
  • 2. Black long skirt to ankle or blank pants. (No jeans, leggings or yoga pants)
  • Black V-neck or scoop neck top with 3/4 length sleeves. No buttons/embellishments.
  • Black opaque stockings and black shoes.
  • No jewelry except studs or slight drop earrings.

(The shells and cover up that have been worn in the past is no longer be part of Chorus attire.)

Rehearsal Guidelines

  • Rehearsals will begin 7:00pm sharp. Please be in your seat and ready to sing.
  • Please wear your CNS names tag at all rehearsals. If you don’t have one, please e-mail membership@choursnorthshore.org so one can be made for you
  • Mandatory sign-in at each rehearsal.
  • Once a singer has established their seat at the first rehearsal, try and keep that seat for each rehearsal

Illness

  • Anyone not feeling well please refrain from attending rehearsal. Anyone testing positive for COVID-19 should notify any board member or your section leader so we can inform the chorus members who may have interacted with you.

Lastly, follow the latest CDC Isolation Guidelines and have a negative Covid test within 48 hours of returning to rehearsal.
